As much as she loved being a superheroine, Carmen knew constantly fighting crime and slaying entropies was going to wear out her mental and emotional stamina. Her parents knew this too and decided they could all use a break. The Tams chose Tokyo as their destination because of the family friend who lived there. Izumi was also mentoring the city's younger superheroes. It was a good opportunity for her proteges and for Carmen to learn from each other firsthand.

But first, Carmen wanted to do some sightseeing and explore Tokyo for herself. She had never been to Japan before. Today was the first full day of her vacation and she was making a point to enjoy every minute of it. She had been walking around for a few hours now. She had taken plenty of pictures, tried out a wide variety of foods, and had done some light shopping.

Deciding to take a short break, Carmen walked over to a park bench, took off her backpack, and sat down. She then took a deep breath and slowly exhaled with satisfaction. So far today was a good day. There was still so much to see and do. She was especially looking forward to flying over the city later on.

This happy mood distracted her from noticing anyone approaching her.
